NASA has officially announced that Artemis 2 launch is targeted for April 1, 2026. NASA has planned multiple possible launch dates for Artemis 2 launch.

Artemis 2 is entering in its final stage for launch. The Space Launch System (SLS) rocket has moved to the launch pad. All four astronauts already arrived at the Kennedy space center in Florida (launch site) to begin their final preparations. 

NASA has announced, Artemis 2 launch will carry 4 Astronauts on the moon and back to earth. Their names are: Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hanson. 

Will they land on the moon? No, Artemis 2 mission will not land on the moon. It will fly around the moon. The Orion space craft will fly about 4600 miles beyond the far side of the moon. 

In Artemis 2 launch NASA will use the most powerful rocket Space Launch System (SLS). This rocket is build for deep space missions including Artemis missions. This rocket is already tested in Artemis 1 launch. 

This mission will change everything and creates history. Artemis 2 launch is just the beginning of the era of space exploration. In next step human will land on the moon and then mars.
